How to get here and around

Isafjordur can be reached by air or by road. There are scheduled flights and during summer also scheduled bus trips.
Once you are here, you can use public transport, hire a bike, take a taxi or rent a car to get around.

By air
Air Iceland operates flights twice par day between Reykjavik and Isafjordur.

By bus
During summer there are scheduled trips between Isafjordur an Holmavík (located in east parts of the West Fjords, 220 km from Isafjordur) and between Isafjordur and Brjanslaekur (located in teh south parts of the West Fjords, 120 km from Isafjordur). Contact the Tourist Information Office for further information.

Public Transport
Isafjordur has a bus system that operates on weekdays only. For schedules and tickets, contact the Tourist Information Office.

Taxi
Taxis offer long and short tours. For longer tours, common price is around USD 100 per hour. As the number of available taxis is limited, it is recommended to book in advance. Seek assistance at the Tourist Information Office

Bicycle rental
Travel agent Vesturferdir / West Tours, Adalstraeti 7, Isafjordur (located in the same house as the Tourist information Office) offer bicycles for rental.
